Ken Yuhasz owns Acme Glass Works in Spokane, a design studio where he produces neon signs and sculpture. Raised in Los Angeles, Yuhasz moved to Moscow, Idaho, in 1983, where he operated a graphic-design business and then a commercial neon-sign business. In 1989, he began using neon to create works of art and continued to develop as an artist after he relocated to Spokane, Wash., in 1991, where he still resides.

I have been at work designing and building the first of two flying appliances of unusual size that will be aloft above the Alaska Airlines baggage claim area and skybridge escalators at the Spokane International Airport. This artwork is one of four commissions chosen for this airport, and is due to be installed in summer of 2009.
